2026-04 New law exam now live

A new and updated Law exam is now live on Passport. It’s available in all previously available languages. 

What we've done: 

• Old exam: 25 sections (questions for each of the 21 laws plus variations, signals) requiring 144 questions to get a certificate
• New Exam: 6 sections (covering before the match, during the match, key contest areas, foul play, variations etc) requiring 60 questions to get a certificate
• Reduced the question set that sits behind it – there’s 290 questions in total, randomly displaying 60 to each user to answer.

Certificates

• For users looking for their old/current certificates - they can be found when they log in, under "My certificates".
• Existing/old exam certificates are still valid for 2 years from the day it was taken so there is no need for anyone to redo the new one unless it has expired.

If users need help with a specific question, they will need to including the wording so we can look into it – For example, “Q3 of the Foul Play section” will be different for everyone who takes the exam. It will be one of 20 questions that are in the question set for the Foul Play section.
